Congratulations to Amy Barnthouse from Hallbrook who was the 2010 recipient of the Wally Daniels Award!

The CCSAKC established the “Wally E. Daniels Memorial Award” in 1979, following the untimely death of Wallace E. Daniels Jr. Wally, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Daniels, was a diver and swimmer for Blue Hills Country Club for 12 years and the diving coach for Carriage Club for two years.

A graduating senior swimmer or diver is eligible for the award. It is not based on swimming or diving ability alone, but on loyalty to the CCSAKC program, team spirit, sportsmanship toward team members and opponents, and a willingness to work with younger swimmers.

Prior to 1984, the award could not be awarded to an AAU or USS swimmer of diver, but that restriction no longer applies. The “Wally E. Daniels Memorial Award,” represented by a silver bowl, is on permanent display at Blue Hills Country Club.  The annual recipient receives a miniature silver bowl.

The memorial award has been presented to:
